Client Stories
Finding permission to let go
Challenge: A client was overwhelmed by a leadership project she felt responsible for completing, despite already carrying a full plate.
One of my clients found herself really struggling internally with a project she was in charge of. She enjoyed the people she worked with, but doing the actual work behind the project was exhausting her and she didn’t know why.
Through several sessions I allowed her to speak to the pieces that she was struggling with, while also posing questions that allowed her to go a step deeper into possibilities of what may stem from those struggles. This client was able to appreciate the reflection that she is a great leader and people person, while also realizing that this project added too much to her already full plate.
The structure that was needed for this project also triggered some core issues she realized she had from her childhood. We talked through the fears she had that she would let everyone down by quitting the project.
I helped her to see that by quitting this project it was an act of self love that would allow for more space to open for her healing and replenishment.
During our follow up conversation, she let me know that everyone in her project was more than understanding and actually commended her for doing what was best for her.
Through the realizations and feedback we had in our sessions, this client is now working to heal those triggers that came up for her that induced the stress and anxiety she was struggling with.
Reframing Purpose and Possibility
Challenge: A client felt stuck in a job he hated. Although it supported his family, he longed for a greater sense of purpose and struggled with the belief that fulfillment was always somewhere else, waiting to be found.
Another one of my clients was struggling with his job. He hated what he does but it provides for his family and he felt “stuck”.
If he could only find his purpose!
He had no idea what that was but knew it wasn’t what he was currently doing, actually it was far from it.
Through our sessions together, we got down to the basics.
I helped him to see what qualities within himself that he did love to do and how those qualities show up in his current life whether that’s through his job or with his family.
We worked together to reframe his job in order to get out of the vibration of “hating it” as much as he could. We added in things he could do to his day to get him into that higher vibration so he could call in what he wanted to manifest. I asked questions that allowed him to find his values and then see the possibilities of things he could do in life that used those values while also bringing in money for his family.
At the end of our sessions together he told me how he felt better and that the burden was lifted.
He was optimistic about shifting his perspective.
During one of our sessions I spoke to him about how he felt so deep in his struggle of finding this passion that even if it did find him, he wouldn’t even be able to see it. We talked about how he needed to find a way to stop looking for it, and trust that it will find him.
I also posed the question:
What if your purpose is always shifting and you just need to follow the flow of what feels good in the present moment?
What if life isn’t one big purpose, what if it’s just a purpose for now that leads to another purpose and another and another.
He was profoundly moved by that discussion. He said it resonated so deeply that it has stuck with him ever since.
